This is essentially the diary of Stanley Phillips during his time as a merchant seaman. Stanley travelled the world at a time when the First World War was about to commence. His diary provides a valuable insight into world events at that time, so much so that the diary is now homed at the Greenwich Maritime Museum and the National Library of Wales.
