Mayor Of St Clears Leads The Way
17/12/10
The Mayor of St. Clears Mark Davies is leading the way in using the new website for St. Clears Town Council. As editor I followed the Town Council's advice in the Carmarthen Journal to correspond with them via the website. Mayor Mark Davies is the only one so far to give any response. Perhaps this is because he is one of the younger members of the Town Council and is not afraid to use technology. Whatever the reason, we must congratulate the mayor on his efforts. An extract from his blog following the recent snow reads"salt boxes
December 15th, 2010
It has come to my attention that a salt box containing grit near to Lon Y Prior has been emptied and the grit taken away to be used in another area. In my opinion it is irresponsible and selfish of these individuals as due to the forecasted weather of snow and ice, the grit was there to help the public be safe on the roads and the pavements in carrying out their daily routines."
I am not sure if it the remit of the Town Council or County Council to stock and maintain the salt boxes but I hope that for the sake of the residents of Lon Y Prior the salt is replaced.
