SCHOOL MEMORIESA new book on the history of St. Clears has been published by the St Clears Times team. Originally written by Wyndham Lewis, ‘St. Clears The Village
When I Went To School 1924 – 1932’ has been re edited using old photographs of St. Clears. Mr Lewis who now lives in Norfolk said, “I’m delighted to
see the old book being brought back to life. I hope it brings a lot of pleasure to the people of St. Clears”. Now aged 92 Mr. Lewis has been using the
Internet to communicate with Alan Evans the editor of the St. Clears Times in order to finalize the publication. Local man Julian Narbett was presented
with the first books off the press. Mr. Narbett attended the same school as Wyndham from 1951 onwards and his family are mentioned and pictured in
the book. He said “The book brings back a lot of school memories and it is important to pass on our local history to future generations”. The book is
priced at £3 and is available online via www.stcleartimes.com at Allsorts and West Wales Crafts in St. Clears or by calling 01994 231776.
