One of the signs removed
An army of cockle pickers descended onto the beds at Laugharne at the weekend. Makeshift camp sites were established in the car park and sand dunes at Ginst point. No toilet or washing facilities were visible. A local man who did not wish to be named said “They have come here again and made a mess. They have taken down signs and cut through chains on gates. The car park is a mess and difficult to get to because of the mess the trucks and tractors have made of it. They are also taking risks fording the river”.
