Pilgrims Progress

24/09/10
Pilgrim’s Progress – Alan EvansLaugharne has benefited from the visit of a group of pilgrims as part of the event ‘Walk St. David’. Churches and chapels across West Wales are involved and a small group are walking from Laugharne to Aberystwyth. Team leader Matie McGrath said ‘It’s a beautiful part of the world to visit. Local people are housing us and their friendship and hospitality is overwhelming. We are all from different denominations united on this walk and the various missions. We will be organising a number of events in this area and hope that local people come along. Carmarthenshire County Council provided us with the litter grabbers, bags and gloves for our litter picking exercise. We have other events including a curry night at Sea view, a free lunch at the Owl and the Pussycat, and doughnuts and songs at the Memorial Hall’. More details for these events are available from Rev David Brownridge Tel 01994427218

Some would agree that today's news is tomorrows chip paper. With today's technology that nnedn't be the case. It is important to have the option of looking back over some articles because they shed light on successes, progress, promises broken, corruption, legal wrangling or simply nostalgia. We are trawling the web to find articles, which have a thread and may be of particular importance to the town as a whole. Inevitably these will be articles based on economic and political items.
